I survived the death plague, or what others called it, a bad spring cold. What it really meant is I didn’t run for two weeks. I could barely walk up and down the stairs without being horribly winded. I did run the South Shore half two weeks ago. That wasn’t fun.
I had lofty goals for the Wisconsin Half when I registered. I wanted to break the elusive 1:50 barrier and I have not let go of that goal, I have just delayed it for another race (of course I have more races planned). I am in no shape to run that pace right now. Between being lazy and being sick it would be stupid to even try.
At least mother nature has finally decided to give us a peek into spring. Rosie and I had a lovely run by the lake yesterday and I remembered everything I love about running.

My Wisconsin Half plans are have fun, cheer for friends and enjoy the weekend with my visiting friend. We’ll run a half marathon on Saturday morning and then eat and drink our way through Milwaukee. It’s the only way I know how to show visitors a good time. 🙂
I have actual time ideas right now, but don’t want to overthink it. I have 10 days to figure out what to do on race day and knowing me I’ll decide on the drive down to Kenosha.
You have a way better attitude about it than I do. I’m all “I quit” .. I’ll take note from this post. Good luck, looking forward to seeing you on one of the turnarounds!
Don’t worry. I had those negative thoughts. Waited to write anything until I could be more positive. Plus I’m just super excited my best friend will be in town. See you it there.
Awww I hope you had a great race!! Late winter BAD cold kicked my marathon plans in the butt. It’s tough dealing with set backs like that.
